Vimeo Video Downloader
Public Vimeo videos, saved as MP4. Vimeo is stricter than the social platforms, so it is worth knowing up front which videos can be reached.
Which Vimeo links work
- Public videos — the ones anyone can watch without a password.
- Several renditions, listed with the resolution Vimeo reports.
- Audio only as MP3 for talks and music.
How to download a Vimeo video
- Copy the address from the video page —
vimeo.com/123456789. - Paste it above and press Grab.
- Choose a quality and save.
Which Vimeo links do not work
- Password-protected videos. The password is a login in all but name.
- Domain-restricted embeds. Vimeo only serves those to an approved website.
- On-demand rentals and purchases. Those are paid content and are refused by design.
- Private links with a review pass. Same rule: no session, no access.
If a video is yours and you need it offline, Vimeo's own download option (where the uploader enabled it) is the cleaner route.
Frequently asked questions
Why does a Vimeo link fail?
The usual reasons are a password, a domain restriction, or a rental. All three require a session this tool deliberately does not have.
Can I download my own Vimeo uploads?
If the video is public, yes. If it is private, use the download button in your Vimeo account instead.
Does it work with Vimeo embeds on other sites?
A direct vimeo.com link works. An embed inside another page is fetched through that page, which may or may not expose the file.
